Division 510 Raises $1200 for Food Bank

While reading the newspaper Bill Pitts (Division 510 Local Chairman) noticed an article about the Moose Jaw food bank needing food supplies. The following week the union met with the company and Local Chairman Pitts had a proposal for them that he felt could help the food bank.

3-day personal leave

I knew personal days off were tough to come by so I asked the Superintendent Greg Jaggernauth if he would be willing” Bill Pitts

Brother Pitts approached Superintendent Greg Jaggernauth and asked him if he would be willing if he would be willing to allow a 3-day personal leave to be used at anytime between June 1st and December 31st. He told Superintendent Jaggernauth that he wanted to sell raffle tickets for the personal allotment with all proceeds going to the Moose Jaw food bank.

“I knew personal days off were tough to come by so I asked the Superintendent Greg Jaggernauth if he would be willing” Bill Pitts.

Superintendent Jaggernauth agreed, the union put the word out and began selling tickets for $5 each. $1200.00 was raised and the 3-day personal leave was won by Scott Maslasz who was ecstatic!

It is shamefull that 3-days of personal is so difficult to get. The union has fought and will continue to fight for a better quality of life for our Members. That said, we congratulate Brother Pitts on using this to achieve some good for those who need it the most.
