A tentative agreement was reached yesterday between CN’s approximately 220 rail traffic controllers and their employer.
The bargaining contract, if ratified, would cover a three-year period and end in 2014.
A number of gains were made, particularly concerning working conditions and wages. The bargaining committee of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) will recommend ratification of the tentative agreement.
“The bargaining committee did an excellent job,” said Shelly Brownlee, General Chairperson of the rail traffic controllers. “The gains made in this tentative agreement will have an immediate and positive impact on our members’ working conditions.”
The ratification vote will be conducted by mail.
