Several local Teamsters unions were very active at the end of 2009 and at the beginning of 2010, increasing their membership by almost 600.

Local Union 419 (Toronto) has welcomed more than 70 members of WSI, a company that specializes in household waste collection in Barrie, Ontario.

Local Union 362 (Calgary) increased its membership by 125, the new members also coming from WSI.

Local Union 931 of Montreal garnered the membership of some 275 workers of the company G4S (Cash and Valuables transportation) following a union allegiance vote ordered by the CIRB.

The same local union added 75 Handlex workers, a baggage handling company servicing Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport.

Local Union 213 organized 10 workers of Mountain View Conservation Society in British Columbia.

We congratulate all the local unions and wish them a great year 2010!
