Tanker cars flip but no leakage reported

CN is still investigating the cause of a six-tanker-car train derailment Sunday in Sarnia.

"It's too early to tell," CN spokesperson Lindsay Fedchyfhyn said Tuesday about the cause of the derailment that happened around noon Sunday in CN's Sarnia rail yard.

"There were no injuries," Fedchyfhyn said.

"The cars were carrying dangerous goods but there were no leaks."

Crews were at work on the cleanup, she added.

"From what I understand, there was no impact on operations."

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services were on scene overnight Sunday and into Monday morning as CN crews worked to right the cars back on the racks.
