Hello Brothers and Sisters,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing of TCRC Brother Imraan Qamar. Tragically, Brother Qamar was fatally injured in the line of duty at CN MacMillan Yard in Toronto on Thursday August 15, 2019 at approximately 0200 hours.

Imraan was 27 years old and qualified as a conductor in December 2018.

The Provincial Board and MacMillan Yard Joint Health and Safety Committee have been involved in the internal investigation, conducted by CN. The Transportation Safety Board is also investigating the accident. EFAP peers and grief counsellors were immediately deployed to support those members affected by this tragedy.

The Funeral was held privately.

On behalf of the Provincial Board I send our deepest condolences to Imraan’s family, friends and work associates.
